Rituals & Landscapes is a solitaire rpg and journaling game based on the images and symbolism found within the traditional Tarot deck. This game can be played as a traditional rpg with imaginative fantasy themes and imagery just as much as it can be used as a guide for factual divination, magical realism, and metaphysical exploration.

The player’s objective is to seek, quest, discover, and unlock the many mysteries abound.

The rule sheet contains several gameplay variants for extended play, group play, and all tables needed to play the game. I’ve also included a simple oracle system, as well as an optional combat variant depending on your personal motives and intentions of your quest and exploration here.  

You as the player can skip the character creation phase and put yourself headfirst into the world of Tarot, fictionally or not. Use the game interchangeably as a personal guide for self-exploration, divination, and tarot magick, or as a character in a more traditional role-playing game.

This game can be used to better learn the true meanings of Tarot, just as much as it can be used as a creation tool for players and GMs alike to create system agnostic locations, settings, spells, items, artifacts, magic, and characters for other non-tarot based rpg games. The list of gameplay variants at the end of the rule sheet is there to help better tune and craft whatever exploration it is that you’re looking for.

All you need to play and begin your exploration here is listed below.

• Daily Journal (Notebook, sheet of paper, notecard, player sheet)
• Tarot cards (Standard 78 card deck)
• A couple of dice (2d6)
• Player sheet (Optional)
• Tarot guidebook/source for card meanings (Optional)
